Watts 9D-M2 Backflow Preventer Dual Check Valve, 3/4 Inch, Bronze

Series 9D is designed specifically for smaller supply lines and is perfect for laboratory equipment, processing tanks, sterilizers, dairy equipment, and similar applications. It is highly recommended for use on boiler feed lines to prevent backflow in case of a drop in supply pressure below system pressure.

This versatile series can be used with hot or cold water and is able to operate under continuous pressure. The primary check valve ensures a tight seal by using a rubber disc that seats against a matching rubber part. Additionally, the secondary check valve features a rubber disc-to-metal seal. In the event of downstream check valve fouling, any leakage will be vented to the atmosphere through the vent port, effectively protecting the potable water system.

Each Series 9D unit is constructed with a bronze body, stainless steel working parts, an integral strainer, and durable rubber discs. It comes with female union inlet and outlet connections, available in sizes 1⁄2" and 3⁄4". The drain features a 1⁄2" threaded connection and can withstand a maximum temperature of 225°F.

This product is perfect for smaller supply lines and various applications such as laboratory equipment, processing tanks, sterilizers, and dairy equipment to prevent backflow. It is suitable for use with hot or cold water and can operate under continuous pressure with a temperature range of 33°F – 250°F (0.5°C – 121°C). The maximum working pressure is 175psi (12.1 bar), with a minimum required pressure of 25psi (1.7 bar).

Featuring a primary check valve that guarantees a tight seal with its rubber disc seating against a corresponding rubber part, and a secondary check valve with a rubber disc-to-metal seating, this series ensures reliability and security. The construction consists of a bronze body with stainless steel working parts, along with an integral strainer and durable rubber discs.

For installation, the Series 9D should be placed at referenced cross-connections either vertically or horizontally to effectively prevent backflow and maintain the integrity of the system.
